Full set of ten John Blanche 'Femme Militant' Miniatures

If you are into collecting super rare miniatures related to gothic fantasy then this is definitely a holy grail...

The Femme Militant range was a personal project by legendary gothic fantasy painter and illustrator John Blanche (artistic director for many years at Games Workshop and Warhammer), that was based on his concept artwork and sculpted by a number of his favourite miniature sculptors from his inner circle of close friends.

John set them the task of designing a limited range of the most ultimate badass gothic femme fatales based on his artwork.

The roster of designers invited to work on the project included Werner Klocke, Steve Buddle, Kevin White, Dave Thomas, Brian Nelson and current GW studio head Jes Goodwin.

The figures are sculpted to 40mm scale (so significantly larger than normal Citadel/Warhammer minis), and cast in resin (which thankfully doesn't get forged) and were first released in November 2006 each individually packaged and shipped inside a very unique steel tin filled with protective foam, as opposed to the usual blister packs or boxes that were common for GW release at the time.

Further miniatures and a matching all male set was planned but the project was closed down by GW management (what meanies they are) before they were all released.

There may have been originally sixteen minis planned in total but in the end only the following got released, which are on sale here:

Bathorii - designed by Steve Buddle
Cataphractii - designed by Dave Thomas
Cratchyng - designed by ???
Gallowglass - designed by Werner Klocke
Mary Bones - designed by Werner Klocke
Panthera - designed by Werner Klocke,
Praytorian - designed by Steve Buddle
Pythone - designed by the legend that is Jes Goodwin
Ratspyke - designed by Werner Klocke
Varangii - designed by Kev White

I have so far never seen such a comprehensive set of Femme Militants go on sale, I personally assembled the set slowly over time purchasing on the secondary market and I'm really keen to see if go to a good home.
