Full disclosure - this unusual brooch has some damage to the glass stone - I just think it is so unusual that it needs to be seen and admired again.
I just love this Art Deco brooch - made from two baroque white glass stones in a gold tone shell shaped frame.  An early example of upcycling, this brooch appears to have been made from a piece of something else or perhaps it had other sections that have now disappeared.  The style of the stones makes me thing of Czech or German jewellery of the 1910-1930s.  The glass stones are held in place with quite a lot of clear glue, and the left hand stone has a number of cracks, although the stone is firmly held together and in place within the gold tone frame. The shell shaped frame has wear to the gold tone colour to some of the raised areas.  Certainly wearable with care, but I think this piece might be of interest to a collector of art deco glass jewellery.
