When I got this, it would work for about 10 minutes and then the sound would become distorted. I traced the problem back to the power supply, which is an easy rebuild. I ordered a quality rebuild kit, replace the supplied parts, and it's now working great. I then did the usual maintenance such as an interior cleaning including all pots and switches, upgraded the dial lights with cool burning LED's, removing and polishing the face and knobs, put on a new set of feet, thoroughly tested all functions, and now it's 'Good to go'.

2 things I want to point out: 1st is the small bumps on the bottom cover. I've seen this in some other Marantz receivers. There is no rust, and they are not bubbles. Just an anomaly in the paint. They actually feel somewhat satisfying. The other is in the last picture. The lines in the signal strength meter likely caused by the hot lights they used at the time. It's not very noticeable at a distance, but I just want to point it out.

This unit is rated at 25 WPC, but being a Marantz, it sounds more like 35. Don't miss out on this beautiful piece of audio history.
