This is a Savinelli Autograph Smooth Fan. It features a fan shaped stummel wrapped in a coat of stunning flame grain, with nearly the entire topside covered with plateau! As can be seen in the photos, one half of the rim is smooth with birdseye. The heel has been flattened to allow the pipe to sit solidly on a desk or table with the stem well above any surface. A short horn insert serves as the shank and the freestyle acrylic stem fits snugly into the mortise. Since the Autograph line uses specially aged extra-extra plateau briar, free from fills and pits, I cannot figure out how this stunning pipe wound up without a grade. I think it deserves a 6....but that's just me. Cheers!
