DeShazer served as the bombardier aboard the 16th and last B-25 bomber to take flight from the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, April 18, 1942, target the oil storage tanks at Nagoya, Japan. At the time of his passing in 2008, Jake was the oldest living Doolittle "Raider."  This is just the beginning of an amazing story of survival and redemption.
