Classical Post-Roman Sculpture Bacchus/Satyress In Gilt Frame 1897 H42 x W35cm

Very appealing reproduction of a classical Roman sculpture.

The piece itself is encased in a frame, the material has a feint glitter so I suspect this is limestone.

A difficult one to track down as to the exact characters but the female has goat legs which would indicate a Roman theme opposed to Greek.

I suspect the man or child is the God Bacchus.

Original label on back, from the exposition of Art in Paris dated 1897.
