Here we have our 1995 Chevy Astro 8 seater window van, owned and used by me for nearly 3 years and has been a pleasure to drive. I have owned a number of American vehicles over the last 35 years and currently have two others and trust me, this Astro drives beautifully .

This van was imported direct from  California back in 2007.
We have used the van to tow our small caravan from Cornwall to Santa pod on several occasions and has proved to be very reliable and comfortable and great fun on long journeys.

The 4.3 litre V6 engine runs on E5 unleaded petrol and purrs effortlessly and quietly.
This van has a 3 speed automatic transmission with selectable overdrive which for general use is fantastic but when towing anything I will always keep it in normal drive and not use the overdrive at all as it may damage it in time.
The van has a tow bar with twin electric sockets.

The engine starts and runs good with good oil pressure and constant medium low running temperature.
The automatic transmission works very smoothly changing up and down as it should with overdrive working well when selected.
All gauges work fine {temp, oil pressure, fuel gauge, amps}
The back axle is quiet and smooth.
The back bumper does have some rusting in places.
The small amount of laquer peel is just above the windows on the drivers side.
T
There are four Boyd Coddington alloy wheels fitted with a same size steel spare wheel with a new tyre stored underneath and never used.
The original jack and wheel brace are present and stored in the rear corner of the van.
Van has original GM floor mats.

All the seats are in fantastic clean condition including the front pair of captains seats which are adjustable back and forth also back rest adjustable.
Both seats have arm rests and are comfy, great for journeys...very American But are fixed so DO NOT SWIVEL LIKE VW VANS!

The 2 rear triple seats which are  fitted with factory seat belts are fully adjustable to slide backwards and forwards as well so great when carrying passengers..
They are also foldable {see last interior picture }  "BUT DO NOT TURN INTO A BED" they are fully removable very easily if space required, even to sleep in if that's what you want. we have removed the seats when going away with our caravan. We made and put reflective screens with sucker pads up in each window and used the van to store everything when on site, like a shed on wheels!!.
 {screens included with van}
So the seating in this van is so versatile for what ever you need for where ever your going....extra passengers, luggage. the family and dogs...even the kitchen sink!!! This van will take it all and you'll be guaranteed to have fun doing it!!

The van has one sliding door on the passenger side and the windows on both sides have lower clips to pop the bottom have open for ventilation. Also all side and back glass is factory tinted.
There are plenty of storage areas throughout the van, even an over head area for smalls with some lights.

When we first bought the van we had a completely new electronic ignition system fitted which was purchased and made in the USA  and not the cheap Chinese copy.
We had the underneath wax oiled 3 years ago to keep it rust free.
There is a DAB CD player installed.
Before we bought it the factory air conditioning compressor has been removed and a pully installed so" no aircon" but driving with front windows both open is extremely quiet and comfortable. So wasn't a problem for us even when on holiday last summer.

This" excellent " Astro has been a pleasure to own and drive, we have loved owning it and he will be much missed but we are now selling to help finance buying a purpose built motorhome.

BUT.... I am open to a possible part exchange deal on the astro if it means he's going  to a good home!!
