Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a gorgeous French cameo style Art Glass enameled dresser box with a chased silver lid, c. 1890-1900. The box features a frosted acid textured background with molded enameled green flowers and foliage with gilt embellishment, c. 1890-1900. This type glass was molded and not carved with the desire to simulate and compete with the popular and more expensive process of true cameo glass. The silver plated cover is decorated with a heavily embossed floral design with a gold washed or gilded interior. The lid is hinged with a tight hinge and the box opens and closes correctly. Marked on the base with factory trademark stamp "V S" with a ship in between the gold letters. This mark was used by the Verrerie de Sevres factory in France beginning in 1885.  The factory later became Christalleries de Sevres et Clichy Reunis.  At the end of the 19th century and into the early 20th century, the company produced high quality art glass inspired by the Art Nouveau movement.

Measures 6" in diameter and 4" high.

This nice box is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear.
