Description: Large continental bronze representing Cupid or Putto - a traditional Renaissance cubby child character - with a shield in his hand.
I date the sculpture to the turn of the 19-th century based on the mounts, but it could much older - it is hard to date ta bronze precisely. The sculpture was probably a part of very large bronze installation. Someone created mounts for it consisting of screwed-in steel rods and wooden board to mount it on a wall. The mounts are the later addition. The cast is kind of rough with some miscastings but there is no damage or repairs
It is 13" by 12 ", weight 6 lb 8 oz.
