This auction is for the newly designed special tool. This tool is precision made of steel and widely tested before we sell here. It works precisely as it should. Leica M Vertical Line Focus Adjustment Tool – The classic Leica M cameras’ rangefinder focus vertical line adjustment is achieved by unscrew the center screw located at the front center of top plate, insert a regular flat tip screw driver, turn the small slotted screw head inside. In late 1970’s/early 1980’s, Leica changed this design. The adjustment is achieved by using a special tool insert into a small hole into the rangefinder adjustment service place by turning the eccentric tip on the special tool. This happened to some very late M4, typically late production M4-2 and all later models include M6, M6 TTL, M7, MP and M8. If you own a late style M rangefinder vertical adjustment camera, you need this tool to fine tune the vertical line alignment. This also includes early M models with later changed late style new rangefinders (Such as the M6J finder for M3). On M4, M4-2, and MP, this
service hole is at the inside of the center screw of the top plate front
face, for M6, M6 TTL, M7 and M8, the service hole is behind the Leica roundel
