This 120mmm x 25mm fan, part number AD1212UV-A71GL, has 2 ball bearings for long life.   The fan includes a 3 pin (2 wire) PCB connector and 4 self tapping mounting screws. 

This fan was modified by our company to pass IP55 water testing. There may be some conformal coating residue on the fan, but this will not affect the fans performance.  An example of the residue is in the pictures. 

The specifications include;

44dBA is an audible hum hum in a normal office.

WATERPROOF to IP55 - These fans were modified at the mynewfan shop to exceed IP55 conditions, that is to say the fan does not fail due to water or dust ingress.  The electonics and the field coils were encapsulated in a UL recognized, MIL-I-46058C polyurethane.  A synthetic grease, used on Mil/Aero Fans, has been added to the bearing shields and shaft to prevent corrosion.  Polyurethane was also brushed on the stator to retard corrossion.  Fans are tested to verify they meet the nominal speed and current ratings.  See an actual IP55 fan test done on one of our fans.

Water Misters

A common DIY water mister uses misting element, water and a fan.  Putting a fan on the exhaust (wet) side of a mister pushes the wet air further but then burns out the fan.  Like sticking your hand out the car window on a rainy day, the water increases the drag.  The increased drag forces the fan to work harder, and the fan burns out.  Put the fan on the dry side of your device and the fan will work better.

Why pay more for a ball bearing fan when sleeve bearing fans sell for less?  Ball bearings increase the fan life by 30% over sleeve bearings.  Ball bearing fans are rated to hot environments up to 70degC vs. 50degC for sleeve bearing fans.  Ball bearing fans can be mounted in any orientation, where sleeve bearing fans are limited to shaft horizontal orientation to prevent oil leakage.
