These might seem odd, but you will soon be wondering what you ever did without these silicone food ties / ropes. Use them in place of standard kitchen string as a reusable way of tying meat joints such as rolled belly pork and baking stuffed fish. It's also fab for tying your bouquet garni and securing round the pot handle - makes it easy to fish back out. If you are anything like me, you'll reuse the muslin squares too !

These are probably the smallest and handiest thing you are likely to have in your kitchen - they certainely are in mine. Makes a nice little stocking filler or gift too.

Unlike kitchen string, the silicone food strings are easily removed with just two fingers. Searching for it in the crackling just doesn't happen and there is no requirement for either a pair of scissors or a sharp knife.... It's there - easily seen and so, so easy to remove. They tie quite loosely on purpose so they don't damage and mark your food. I've attached a load of photos taken in my kitchen to give you the idea.

I also like using these for securing open packets of food stuffs by looping the rope right round - for example open bags of ground almonds, pine nuts and pudding rice. You know the ones the the resealable sticky tabs at the top that always pop off..
