This listing is for a lovely vintage English "Barbola" dressing table mirror with hand painted gesso floral decoration and an easel back, c. 1930's.
This nice mirror is a wonderful example of "Barbola" shabby chic charm featuring a round beveled edge mirror mounted on a painted wooden frame with a gesso flower border. The floral border is in good condition with hand enameled gesso flowers with beautiful coloration in shades of dark orange-red, white, yellow and one dark blue with dark green leaves. The border has normal stress cracks found on gesso items and minor paint wear although there are no missing flowers (see photos). The floral design is placed slightly off-center, however, it was intentionally made this way and is not missing part of the design. The mirror has a nice beveled edge and is in excellent condition with no major chips or cracks.
The mirror measures 11" wide and 7 1/4" high with the total height being 8 1/2".
