This helmet is modeled after the Etruscan helmet in the museum of natural history in Rome. Peter Connelly portrayed Lars porsena as wearing this helmet in his book " Hannable and the enemy's of Rome " (an Awsome book ! ) this helmet is hand raised from one sheet of sheet bronze. This helmet took aprox. 50-60 hours of hammering , annealing , heat treating and hammering ,annealing ect....this process repeats aprox. 200 times before helmet is shaped . No other company or artist is doing helmets without welding them. This helmet has no welds ! The ram heads are bronze foils that are reinforced and attached to the helmet as was the original. While in Italy I studied and photographed this helmet amoung many others.I made this helmet large . I'm 6 foot 4 inches and as u can see from the pictures it fits me perfect. I lined the helmet with dear skin and it has a padded pillow in the dome for comfort. The original helmet has evidence that it had a crest but the one I made is purely speculated.
