FAQ
Where are your journals made?
These handmade, fair trade and eco-friendly journals are made by a small
family business in Rajasthan, India.
How many pages does the journal have
and what is it made of?
These journals have 125 pages of handmade khadda paper, made from
recycled cotton (also known as kaddi or khaddi) that has been left over from
the massive garment industry in India. They are handmade and don’t contain
chemicals as we only use unbleached cotton. The paper is made by a charity in
rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in
rural villages.
How are the journals made?
The saris come from Varanasi, one of the most religious cities in the
World and a centre of excellence for sari making. We use new saris as we cannot
guarantee the cleanliness of recycled saris and cannot always get the correct
styles and designs.
The pages have been bound by hand, so they are strong and perfect for
travelling.
What can I use the journal for?
They are perfect to use as a scrapbook or art book, doodle book or
diary, and the paper is great for water-colour painting.
Anything else I should know?
Due to the handmade nature of these products colour and designs may
slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.
Please note we do not advise using a fountain pen with this type of
handmade paper as the ink may spread.
When can I expect my delivery?
We aim to process and dispatch your delivery on the same day. Please
allow up to 3 working days to receive this.
