35th Infantry Division

Description

US Divisional Patches - 35th Infantry Division. Nicknamed "Santa Fe Division".

The 35th ID can trace their history back to WW1 and have fought during WW2, as well as peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Kosovo.

During WW2, The Division landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy around a month after D-Day. The 35th then spent time fighting around St. Lo, before moving across France and onto the German border. The Division was then tasked to try and breakthrough to Bastogne during the Ardennes offensive, to help relieve the surrounded 101st Airborne.

After WW2, the 34th ID was reorganised, and is still active today. Their HQ is currently in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, USA.

This is a fantastic reproduction of the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia worn by the unit. It depicts an embroidered white 'Santa Fe cross' on a blue circle. The insignia was the symbol of the 'Santa Fe trail', an area where the 35th ID trained during WW1.

Perfect for your 35th Infantry Division collection!
