This listing is for a lovely antique Art Nouveau Period Cranberry/Ruby glass perfume or scent bottle with Sterling Silver overlay decoration. The bottle has a deep cranberry glass body and stopper with Sterling Silver decoration on both. Bottle has a cartouche in the design which is engraved with fancy 3-letter monogram "A L D". The silver is marked on bottom edge with the Gorham trademark stamp and number "D 939".
The bottle measures (with stopper inserted) 4 3/4" high, 2 3/4" wide and the top opening is 3/4" in diameter.
This nice bottle is good for display but has a few issues. There are some faint internal hairlines extending from the neck into the body, mostly covered by the sterling overlay that occurred from the heat applied in applying the silver decoration. Please view all photos. There are no exterior chips or cracks, and the matching stopper is in excellent condition. The sterling overlay is in excellent condition with no noted flaws.
