The vinyl material is made to be waterproof which in turn makes the mattress not very breathable and warm to sleep on. This cover also helps protect against bed bugs, dust mites and other allergens but does not prevent them entirely. One of the greatest things about this solid foam design is its ability to be flipped over for extended years of use.
