THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained.

*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD (VG) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a VG+, looks and plays great.

Record Grade VG+ = ONE OWNER. Very well maintained. Just listened to both sides of the whole album with headphones on and it plays beautiful. The vinyl looks clean. Little to no surface noise at all. No skips or jumps. Difficult to find this rare vintage stereo recording in such nice condition. (see pictures)

Jacket Grade VG = Very well maintained. We kept it on our shelf in plastic cover all these years. No writing, no tape, no seem splits. Minor crease lower left front cover. Very sturdy cover. A clean jacket for a 38 year old album. (see pictures)

The pictures were taken of the exact vinyl record and album cover you will receive, moments before this listing was written. Please make sure to review the images and ask any questions prior to bidding.

*We consider all reasonable offers and respond to ebay messages immediately.

James Minter (Jimmy) Knepper (November 22, 1927 – June 14, 2003) was an American jazz trombonist. In addition to his own recordings as leader, Knepper performed and/or recorded throughout his career with many of the top figures in jazz including the bands of Charlie Barnet, Woody Herman, Claude Thornhill, Stan Kenton, Benny Goodman, Gil Evans, Thad Jones & Mel Lewis, Toshiko Akiyoshi & Lew Tabackin, and, most famously, as friend and arranging/transcribing partner of bassist and composer Charles Mingus in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
