These WW2 Gold Aircraft Destruction Badges or Tieffliegervernichtungsabzeichen, would have been awarded to soldiers who brought down five low-flying aircraft using only hand weapons. They were introduced in 1945 but there is some debate as to whether any were actually awarded (other than on paper) during the war.
The badges feature a metal aeroplane on a gold-coloured ribbon backing with two black stripes.
These reproductions are hard to come by and are some of the best available on the market.
