- Hand made Pants for the traditional Chonguinada Dances of Peru
- Hand Embroidered (and to a much more detailed/intricate than one often finds)
- Worn by Chonguinada Dancers in the Junin Region of Peru during the month of May
- Check out my other items as I have 3-4 of the matching wire mesh masks to accompany these pants!!
- I am glad to combine shipping.
- These typically come up for sale in April by importers. Everyone assumes they are plentiful, however as you see from my hard-worked stock pile, I have the fullest collection because I know that they are in fact rather rare and of a limited quantity, especial as export.
- Other then the above, I know little about the dance, or characters.
- Youtube video of dance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YzRZmpvss8 and here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rn8Xk5o4Uo&feature=player_embedded
- Other good insight: http://culturatunanteraec.blogspot.com/2009/12/personajes-de-la-cuadrilla-de-la.html
- For years I thought this was used in the Chonguinada dance, however now I wonder if they are used in the Tunantada Dance .. (I am not sure they are near similar)
- These wear comfortably. One size. Either sex.
- I'd estimate that they fit comfortably from 5'4 to 5'10 and 130lbs to 190lbs
