Entirely artisan handcrafted in Montana, most designs are limited edition or one-of-a-kind.

Papa Legba: In Haitian Vodou, Papa Legba is the intermediary between the loa and humanity. He stands at a spiritual crossroads and gives (or denies) permission to speak with the spirits of Guinee, and is believed to speak all human languages. He is always the first and last spirit invoked in any ceremony, because his permission is needed for any communication between mortals and the loa – he opens and closes the doorway.

In Haiti, he is the great elocution, the voice of God, as it were. Legba facilitates communication, speech and understanding. In the Yoruba pantheon, honored in Nigeria, Cuba, Brazil, and elsewhere in the Yoruba diaspora, Ellegua is mostly associated with Papa Legba since both share the role of being the god of the crossroads.

Because of his position as ‘gate-keeper’ between the worlds of the living and the mysteries he is often identified with Saint Peter who holds a comparable position in Catholic tradition. He is also depicted in Haiti as St. Lazarus, or St. Anthony. In Benin and Nigeria, Legba is viewed as young and virile, is often horned and phallic, and his shrine is usually located at the gate of the village in the countryside.

The Black Water Siren Studio rendering of this veve symbol is exclusively our own copyrighted design. Any imitation of our design shown here that is seen or sold elsewhere other than through Black Water Siren Studio is counterfeit, a violation of copyright law, and should be reported.

What goes into our Shipping & Handling amount? First, there are numerous hours of labor and time involved taking multiple photographs of each piece of jewelry, choosing and processing the best photos for the internet, writing the detailed descriptions for each piece, and listing each item on eBay, which also includes paying substantial seller fees. Then there are the tangible costs of the packaging materials, the labor/time to package each item for shipment, and the actual cost of the postage itself.

We accept PayPal as well as other standard pre-approved methods. Please email if you wish to arrange alternative payment for your purchase. We combine listing purchases for five days only. If you need to arrange alternative payment, please contact us. Payment is required within seven days of listing's end. In accordance with eBay's policy, any unpaid purchases after seven days may be relisted and an unpaid item dispute may be filed. If you need an alternate payment arrangement, please contact us as soon as possible.

One-Of-A-Kinds:
Our studio s
pecializes in One Of A Kind and Limited Edition jewelry. Just as a painter may produce ten original watercolors of the same scene, each painting will have its own unique features and its own "personality". It is the same with the One Of A Kind jewelry created in our studio. While we may present similar designs in shape, size, and theme, each finished piece will be unique in its overall appearance, physical placement of components, color and characteristics of the stones, beads, and other focal points chosen to complete each rendition. Black Water Siren Studio fully guarantees our jewelry and will repair any defect in workmanship.

Please review our listings frequently. We consistently get numerous inquiries to reproduce items that have been won by other bidders, and find it important to let you know that if there is a particular item you are considering, this current auction is your best opportunity to purchase it. While in some circumstances we may be able to create a moderately similar rendition of the design, it is not possible to create exact duplicates.

Guarantee:
All products have been checked for quality before the product is shipped to you. We guarantee the craftsmanship and materials used in our work. All jewelry is inspected before shipment for any defect in workmanship. Should you receive your order in less than satisfactory condition, please return any damaged merchandise within fourteen days of receipt for repair, replacement, or refund.

Materials FAQs:
Gold-Filled: A layer of 14k gold is penetrated and fused into the surface of a base metal, usually brass, to give the look of gold without the cost. Gold-filled greatly differs from gold-plating (where the gold is painted onto the surface and can peel). Gold-filled is actually absorbed, blended, and fused into the surface creating a longer-lasting and durable finish.

Silver-Filled, like gold-filled, consists of sterling silver fused into the surface of a brass substrate. The silver used for the bonding process is sterling silver. Silver-filled fabrication metals offer the bright whiteness of silver at a fraction of the cost of solid silver and provide higher quality finished pieces than you can produce with silver-plating.

Antiqued Copper, Antiqued Brass, and Blackened leverback ear wires are copper-based metal.
Antiqued Copper, Antiqued Brass, and Blackened necklace & bracelet chain is steel or copper-based, clasps are zinc alloy metal and lead-free.

Stone Inclusions: Rainbows, phantoms, striations, minor natural fissures or other anomalies. The stones we use in our jewelry are structurally sound and like all other gemstones, if treated with care, will last a lifetime.
