NEW!
This is a new mini experiment kit.  You want to try building a solar panel but don't want to invest much.
Here is what you need. $ 24.95 + 4.99 shipping(usa)

You get 40 solar cells  2" x 3" ( 50 mm x 75mm) .5 volts x 1.2 amps each. 36 cells would make a 20 watt panel. You only need 36 cells to make an 18 volt panel the standard size for charging 12 volt batteries.
Note: some kits contain solar cells cut from 2 buss bar cells and the wide collector line will be more centrally  located
( main picture), SOME cells are cut from 3 buss bar cells and the collector line will be off set to one side( second picture) it will be random which type you will get. Also I use different brands of cells,  the cells may not look exactly like the picture, you may see more of a crystal pattern.
One (1) rosin flux pen( M G Chemical brand) A quality flux pen.
20 feet of tabbing wire( 6 meters)  you only need about 13 feet( 4.5 M) , this is plenty extra.

THIS KIT DOES NOT COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS
Go to YouTube and watch 20 different videos on building solar panels while you wait for the kit to arrive. Instructables.com is another source. Instructables is also a great place if you want to try to fix anything, just type in your problem or other key words and there is a good chance someone has uploaded what you need, it's Awesome.

The 2x3 cells are a nice size , not to big and not real small. this size gives them some body and you will not break as many as you would if the cells were smaller.

A rosin flux pen, the second most expensive item in the kit, the cells are # 1 of course. A rosin flux pen  will make the job of soldering tabbing wire on the cells much easier. You just apply the flux by dragging the tip down the collector line before soldering the tabbing wire on. Just like if you were using a marker. The flux pen comes with opening instructions and some hints for using it.
20 feet ( 6 M) of tabbing wire, you solder pieces that are twice as long as the cell is, when you have done them all you flip over the cells and solder the tabbing wire from one cell to the back of the next cell ,repeating this process to connect all 36 cells together.

I see many listings for similar type kits from China, be real careful  reading the size of the cell they usually only list them in mm, no inch reference, some of these cells are really small.
