Birchwood Casey Super Flat Black Instant Touch Up Pen 15102

An easy and effective way to touch-up scuffs, nicks and scratches in the anodized finish of your iPhone, lenses, guns, and more.

Scuffs in the anodized finish of the iPhone 5 really stand out, especially on the black model. If your black iPhone 5 has developed scuffs, this touch-up paint pen will turn chips or scratches from silver to black.
The following information applies to the black iPhone only:

We do not recommend using a black Sharpie marker or ordinary black paint, as these will do a poor job of matching the anodized metal. Applying marker or paint could make the phone look worse and hurt its resale or trade-in value in the future.

Several sites recommend this product if you choose to repair the phone on your own. This paint pen is specifically designed for repairing imperfections in anodized metal.
The Birchwood Casey Flat Black Touch-up pen will give you the best match to the original surface.

These pens have plenty of paint to repair several phones, or you can use the leftovers to touch up nicks or scratches in cameras, binoculars, or black sporting accessories. Except for the thin, chamfered (a.k.a. beveled) edge, all aluminum surfaces on the iPhone 5 are flat black. We recommend the flat black pen for fixing scuffs and nicks on the larger, flat surfaces. If you wish to touch up the narrow, shiny, chamfered edge should you go with the gloss pen found in our eBay store.

Simply dab the pen over each scratch or nick. If you put down a bit too much paint, use a cotton cloth or paper towel to dab up the paint and try again. When partially dry you can use a soft cloth or old toothbrush to blend the repair into the original finish. Once you’ve covered any scuffs, wait for the paint to fully cure before handling the areas where paint was applied.

Notes:

  • Color will match BLACK only and not other colors such as anodized blue, etc.
  • Instructions for use are on the pen.

FAQ

Q: Will the Super Black Touch Up Pen ever rub off?
A: The Super Black Touch up Pen will rub off if it is exposed to excessive friction.

Q: When I first opened the pen it appears to be dried out.
A: Consumers often think that the pen is dried out when they receive it. The tip is white and dry. The pen needs to be shaken and then you need to press down on the tip a few times to get the ink flowing.

Q: I left the cap off my pen and it dried out. What can I do?
A: If marker is not tightly capped when stored, the tip may dry out and become unusable. If this occurs, remove the tip and soak it overnight in paint thinner. Reattach and try again.
