Large Silver Drum Candle Holder, Antiqued Mercury Glass Extremely 10 Sided Versatile

This auction is for a silver mercury glass drum-style candle holder with ten flat sides.

Pretty and extremely versatile (I have one and I use it for all holidays, I just change out the accessory colors).

Nice quality with rubber foot pads to protect your table tops and a small platform on the inside to hold candles. See photos.

Mercury Glass Info

Mercury glass is glass that has a silvery appearance. Mercury glass actually contains no mercury, although there were at one point, several manufacturers who attempted to line glass with mercury. This procedure was short lived due to both the toxic nature of mercury as well as its expense, but may account for the name. Please Note: Mercury glass is neither uniform nor is it meant to look uniform in its patterns/appearance. There is an inconsistency in the coverage of silver. This is the way mercury glass is intended to be. Therefore, the silver lining will be thicker in some areas and thinner in others, with all sorts of interesting patterns that emerge from when the silver is applied.
