Maltol is an organic compound, a common flavouring / sweetener and a
very pleasant smelling ingredient that is used as a flavouring in the
food, beverage, confectionary and fragrance industry.
It
is also used in the e-liquid industry to round off harsh flavours, add
sweetness or (when used in larger amounts) give a cotton candy / candy
floss type flavour.
It has a sweet smell that can has been described as caramelized sugar, cotton candy, candy floss or sweet cooked fruit.
