Turnbuckles - M6

McGill Turnbuckle Links are internally threaded right hand at one end and left hand at the other to make them easily adjustable in length without having to remove the bolts from the rod ends. These linkages are manufactured to be within excellent tolerances. These are commonly used for motorsport when making links such as drop links, adjuster bars, steering arms etc.

Available in the following sizes:

70mm - Adjustment range 100mm - 130mm centre to centre distance.

100mm - Adjustment range 130mm - 160mm centre to centre distance.

120mm - Adjustment range 150mm - 180mm centre to centre distance.

150mm - Adjustment range 180mm - 210mm centre to centre distance.

200mm - Adjustment range 230mm - 260mm centre to centre distance.

250mm - Adjustment range 280mm - 310mm centre to centre distance.

300mm - Adjustment range 330mm - 360mm centre to centre distance.

- Outer Diameter: 10mm
- Made from Carbon Steel 1045 (C45) *
- Zinc plated to give excellent resistance to corrosion.
- Ideal for use as gear linkages, anti roll bar drop links,  4 link kits, ladder bars, steering arms, castor arms, compression struts, watts linkages etc.
- Save time by using these in place of drilling and tapping out solid steel.
- CNC precision machined.
- Flat spanner size central section for easy adjustment.
- Manufactured to within excellent tolerances.

Why use a turnbuckle?

- Save time and money by using these pre-made link bars.
- Attractive looking product, nice finish.
- No need to remove bolts to adjust the linkage length, just simply turn the link bar to either extend or shorten the linkage.
- Manufactured in a range of lengths to accommodate most requirements.

* Carbon Steel 1045
C45 is a medium carbon steel is used when greater strength and hardness is desired than in the "as rolled" condition. Extreme size accuracy, straightness and concentricity combine to minimize wear in high speed applications. Turned, ground and polished.

Rod Ends

Economy

CM Economy Series Rod End
(CMRM6 - M6x1mm Right Hand Male & CMLM6 - M6x1mm Left Hand Male)

CM Range - Ideal for Budget Motorsport, Marine and Industrial Applications.

BALL:  52100 Bearing Steel  ~  Heat Treated  ~  Hard Chrome Plated  ~  Precision Ground
BODY:  Carbon Steel  ~  Protective Coated  ~  Corrosion Resistant
EXCLUSIVE FEATURES:    No Maintenance Required  ~  No problems of PTFE Liners popping out under high loads

High Performance

SAK-T Teflon Lined High Performance Series Rod End
(SAK6T - M6x1mm Right Hand Male & SAKL6T - M6x1mm Left Hand Male)

McGill SAK-T Teflon Lined Series 2-piece male joints have 3 components; the ball, the liner and the body. The body is made from Carbon Steel which is heat treated and protective coated for corrosion resistance. These joints are ideal for use in areas which require a high strength joint smooth rotation. These joints are ideal for use in areas where the joint is constantly in motion as the liner insures the ball mooves freely without any knocking or play being induced. These joints should do not require lubrication. Carbon Steel with Teflon liner.

SAK-T Range - Ideal for Motorsport, Marine and Industrial Applications.

BALL:  52100 Bearing Steel  ~  Heat Treated  ~  Hard Chrome Plated  ~  Precision Ground
RACE:  Teflon Lined
BODY:  Carbon Steel  ~  Protective Coated  ~  Corrosion Resistant
EXCLUSIVE FEATURES:    No maintenance Required  ~  Metal to Metal Support for Heavy Shock Loads

Important Note:

These 3-piece joints have high wear performance and meet the specified radial load resistance, but have limited axial load performance. If selecting these joints, we strongly recommended the use of safety washers mounted on either side of this joint, which are available for most sizes on our website. These washers provide protection if the joint was to fail axially. If the end application requires a joint where resistance to axial loading is required, it would be best to consider using a 2-piece joint such as one from our ‘XM’  product range. As always, please consult with a qualified engineer before making any design decisions or product selections for your end application.

Ultra High Performance

XMM Racing Series Ultra High Performance Rod End
(XMRM6 - M6x1mm Right Hand Male & XMLM6 - M6x1mm Right Hand Male)

McGill XMM - Racing Series Ultra High Performance Racing Series range features a loaded slot style of rod end that was introduced to the market in 1995. The body is machined with a significant groove going all the way around the interior of the body. The ball is then inserted into the machined slot and a Teflon®/Kevlar® material is injected. Serving as a liner to keep dirt and debris out, the Kevlar also lubricates the ball. In addition to providing added strength, the injection moulded race also won’t “pound out” like traditional PTFE (Teflon®) liners, increasing the longevity of your rod ends. The body is heat treated and is made from Chrome Molybdenum for excellent strength and corrosion resistance.  This is simply the best rod end design for most motorsport applications. Chrome-Moly Steel with Teflon®/Kevlar® injection moulded liner.

XMM Range - Ideal for Motorsport and Marine Applications.

BALL:  52100 Bearing Steel  ~  Heat Treated  ~  Hard Chrome Plated  ~  Precision Ground
RACE:  Injection Moulded Kevlar Reinforced with PTFE  ~  Self-Lubricating  ~  Self-Sealing
BODY:  Chrome Molybdenum  ~  Heat treated  ~  Corrosion Resistant
EXCLUSIVE FEATURES:  Thicker Body for Increased Tensile Strength  ~  High Radial Load Capability  ~  Metal to Metal Support for Heavy Shock Loads

Nuts

6mm Metric Half Lock Nuts - Mild Steel - Bright Zinc Plated
(JNRM6 - M6x1mm Right Hand Thread & JNLM6 - M6x1mm Right Hand Thread)
These are commonly used for motorsport when securing rod ends to link bars. As the nut is half the thickness, it allows for maximum adjustment.

- Ideal for securing linkage bars in place on the rod end to prevent rotation of the bar.
- As the nuts are half the thickness of standard nuts, a finer adjustment can be made as the rod end can be screwed further into the link bar.
- Mild steel, CNC precision machined.
- Protective coated for corrosion resistance (Bright Zinc Plated).
