More about our 2nd Quality Products –
These are brand new items, but they are slight SECONDS in terms of quality.

We are a Fair Trade company and part of our ethos is never to send anything back to our suppliers or withhold payment. Sometimes we receive leather items from our suppliers that are not quite up to our high standards.

Leather is a natural product and is not likely to be perfect. However, with these items there are some obvious but minor imperfections in the finish of the journals. This may be an odd mark or scrape or other discolouration. We think this adds to the rugged and unique appeal of the items.

Because of these minor faults, the items are being sold at a VERY REDUCED PRICE. If, however, bearing this all in mind, you are not happy with the product once you have received it, you are more than welcome to send it back to us for a refund. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the return postage as it has been made clear that the items are seconds.

FAQ:

More About Us:
We are a Fair Trade company and regularly visit our suppliers to ensure the highest standards are met.
We pay our suppliers 50% upfront and send money to them whenever they need it and we never send anything back, even if it’s damaged.  To incentivise the staff, we have a bonus system in place, and they can earn up to 5% of our total order value, which can equate to an extra month’s wages per year.

Where are your journals made?
These handmade, fair trade and eco-friendly leather covered journals are made by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

How many pages does the journal come with and what is it made of?
These medium leather journals have 125 pages of handmade khadda paper, made from recycled cotton (also known as kaddi or khaddi) that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. They are handmade and don’t contain chemicals as we only use unbleached cotton. The paper is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in rural villages.

How are the journals made?
The leather has been tanned by our suppliers and the journals have been crafted using a mixture of love, contemporary and traditional skills. The embossing has been expertly created using small individual handmade tools making each journal unique.
The pages have been bound by hand, so they are strong and perfect for travelling
Each item is individual, leather is a natural product and can have slight imperfections, we feel this adds to the individuality and makes each product unique.
For embossed items, the exact pattern WILL NOT be the same as the sample image shown but all products been made with the same handmade, Fair Trade love and care.

What can I use the journal for?
They are perfect to use as a scrapbook or art book, doodle book or diary, and the paper is great for water-colour painting.

Anything else I should know?
Due to the fact that these products are individual, rustic and handmade, the colour and designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not advise using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper as the ink may spread.

When can I expect my delivery?
