Includes liner notes by Luc Plamondon.Canadian Celine Dion's first language was French, so it probably shouldn't have come as a surprise to anybody that she'd do a follow up to DION CHANTE PLAMONDON, a 1994 collaboration with Luc Plamondon, one of Canada's premier French language pop lyricists. This time out, she's working with French-Canadian songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, and the language notwithstanding, it's pretty much business as usual musically, i.e. a mix of lovely pop ballads, big production flourishes, soaring chord changes, and stadium-ready guitar parts. The bluesy "Le Ballet," however, rocks out a bit harder than one might have suspected -- think the Atlanta Rhythm Section with a heavy cream sauce.
