Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a gorgeous Loetz "Candia Silberiris" Art Glass petite/miniature cabinet vase from the Art Nouveau period, c 1885-1900. The vase has a beautiful blue-green silvered iridescent finish over the pale topaz glass body and is overlaid with a Sterling Silver Art Nouveau floral design. The design features three individual flowers set within a diamond shaped medallion connected to a silver band that encircles the vase. The top is deeply ruffled with a dimple in the glass at the bottom of each ruffle and is banded with Sterling Silver. Although the silver is not marked, we guarantee it to be Sterling Silver as described.

Measures 3 1/2" high with a top diameter of 2 3/8" (at widest) and the base is 1 3/8" in diameter.

This nice vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There are a couple of tiny no-harm dimples in the glass from production which is very common on these pieces.

Some Loetz vases with applied silver decoration were executed in Europe but the majority originated from America with the silver work applied by American Silver Companies to vases acquired directly from the Loetz factory. Only the highest grade of silver is malleable enough to be worked on glass making these silver overlaid vases very desirable with any Loetz petite vase being especially rare.
