Hygrophila Corymbosa - emersed

Hygrophila Corymbosa can grow in a wide range of conditions. It’s quite hardy, resilient, and easy to grow. It must be pruned frequently. New shoots will spread from the stem and make the plant look bushier. The cuttings can be planted in the substrate where new roots form quickly.  It can grow in emersed and submerged form. Emersed form has bigger, wider leaves and not infrequently have small "pimples" on the leaves, some of which have a sand-like feel. After planting in an aquarium it will go through transition period changing shape of the leaves. Hygropila Corymbosa can  form a large, dense, branched bush when it is regularly pruned. It looks also well as half-emersed plant in open tanks where it develops many light purple flowers. You might  notice that the underside turns to a sliver-whitish shade. The newest and smallest leaves are a distinguishable reddish brown, and older leaves die over time. Also, new shoots grow to replace older ones.

The size of the plant shows how big it can grow in the aquarium. That gives information to the buyers where to position plant in the aquarium. Plants which you will receives come from greenhouses or laboratory(in vitro) and some of them might be smaller or bigger than the final sizes shown on the listing. Don't be surprised that sometimes plants might not have roots or roots will be minimal. After planting in the aquarium, the plant will grow new roots within a few days.
