Although our photos show three spoons, this listing is for ONE vintage S. Kirk & Son Sterling Silver salt spoon with beautiful REPOUSSE floral design issued in 1828. This lovely spoon is decorated with an elegant all-over chased floral design on handle and stem in high relief. Marked "Sterling".
Measures 2 1/2" long. Weighs is 2.5 grams.
The silver is in excellent condition with no noted flaws and reflecting minimal signs of normal wear.
The iconic "Repousse" pattern by S. Kirk & Son made its debut in 1828 making it the oldest Sterling Silver pattern produced in the United States where its remained to this day as one of the most popular patterns ever created. To create this pattern, the Philadelphia trained silversmith Samuel Kirk revived an ancient technique known as "repousse" to create an embossed design that is both versatile and instantly recognized.
