This antique hand auger is marked with the number eight followed by the L. VEBEP and then the word "Warranted." 

The handle measures about 15 inches across, and is an overall good condition except for the beginnings of a few small splits in the wood. The iron portion or auger/drill is about 20 inches in length including the part that goes through the handle. The bore diameter is approximately 2 inches. It does feel very sturdy, that is quite unusual in that it has the markings on the shaft.
