Hey folks,

The bump mod is perhaps one of the oldest mods for Fender Rhodes.
It increases the velocity of the hammer arm and thereby the speed of play.

WE MADE A COMPLETE EXPLANATION & INSTALLATION VIDEO FOR THIS MOD.
Unfortunately eBay has made adding videos very difficult.
SO PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR YOUTUBE PAGE OR WEBSITE FOR MORE DETAILS.

Our bump mod kit is better than anything out there....and, as usual, at a better price too.

Why it's better:
  • Custom ABS bumps made in the USA
  • Strong, dimensionally stable with good glue adhesion
  • Clean cut at the factory and smoother than other bumps
  • Easier installation with no bump trimming
  • Best felt available - braided European felt for longest life
  • Bump glue included (2 tubes)
The kit includes the bumps, plenty of felt for re-felting the key pedestals and two tubes of super glue for applying the bumps. For gluing the felt we recommend using either a synthetic hyde glue, real hyde glue or a pvc-e glue. You can also use the e6000 that we sell in our store but it is not always as economical.

The steps are pretty simple and hopefully the following video gives anyone wanting to do this mod the confidence to go for it.

Step 1. Remove the original felt from the key pedestal.

Step 2. Remove a few hammers in each location and mark the bass, mid and treble sections where you want to place your bumps.

Step 3. Remove the hammer rail and draw a line between the marks across the the top of the key pedestals.

Step 4. Glue down the bumps using the provided superglue.

Step 5. Cut the felt pieces and glue down the felt (e6000, hyde glue, synthetic hyde glue, pvc-e glue not included) and secure the felt around the bump with string or a rubber band. #32 rubber bands work fine....but tons of other sizes work well also.

Step 6. After the glue dries, trim the excess felt using a razor or some scissors.

It's really that simple. Just pay extra attention when making your layout marks and you shouldn't have any problems.
