Western favorite Chuck Connors gives us a hard-edged performance as the mastermind of the heist of the US army's gold stock. Unfortunately the crew he assembles to pull off the job is even less trustworthy than he is, and after the job everybody double-crosses everybody in what becomes a first rate revenge tale. Enzo G. Castellari (aka Enzo Girolami) has worked in many genres, contributing fan favorites like ANY GUN CAN PLAY, KEOMA, PAYMENT IN BLOOD, DAY OF THE COBRA, THE COLD EYES OF FEAR and many others, but KILL THEM ALL AND COME BACK ALONE is arguably his best film. Tito Carpi contributed the tight screenplay as he did for Castellari's ANY GUN CAN PLAY and PAYMENT IN BLOOD. The wildly atmospheric score is by the prolific Francesco DeMasi, composer of 123 scores between 1959 and 2007, many for Castellari's works as well as for other director's films (LONE WOLF MCQUADE, THE MAN FROM NOWHERE, SARTANA DOES NOT FORGIVE, AND GOLIATH AND THE SINS OF BABYLON). The cast includes perennial Spaghetti Western favorite Frank Wolff (A STRANGER IN TOWN, GOD FORGIVES I DON'T, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, THE GREAT SILENCE), here giving a manic performance as the lead villain. Others in the film are Franco Citti (KILL AND PRAY), available from Wild East, Leo Anchoriz (A BULLET FOR SANDOVAL), and Ken Wood (VIVA DJANGO, RINGO AND HIS GOLDEN PISTOL, ADIOS SABATA and RETURN OF SABATA).
