Olympus OM-D E-M5 590nm 'Goldie' IR SUPER COLOR converted camera!

Infrared photography opens up an unseen world of beauty and never-ending surprise. Up for bid is an Olympus’ next generation OM-D E-M5. The internal IR cut filter has been removed and replaced with a 590nm longpass filter. This filter blocks most visible light and allows near IR and IR light to be recorded by the sensor.

The results? You’ll have a camera that will capture infrared images without the need for long exposures or the need for a tripod.  With the 590nm filter in place, you can achieve surrealistic colors with plenty of options for post processing.  BnW IR photography can be achieved with software conversion or by using the cameras built in B+W mode.  I provide a tutorial and the software to do this.   The first picture in my listing is taken with a camera exactly like this one.

The OM-D E-M5 shares the Magnesium alloy body and weather sealing of Olympus's flagship DSLR - the E5 - and is in fact a more capable camera all-round, from its new 16 Megapixel CMOS sensor to it's 5-axis image stabilization. The OM-D E-M5 has what Olympus claims is the world's fastest contrast detect AF system. Its 1.4 million pixel EVF is combined with a 3 inch 610k pixel OLED articulated touch-screen. Physical controls include twin dials with two programmable function buttons. The camera body and add-on flash is dust and splash-proof. The body has built in 5-axis image stabilization, and the Truepic VI processor provides continuous shooting at speeds up to 9fps, or 4.2fps with continuous AF. The best quality video mode is 1080p30, full PASM exposure control is available for movie shooting and stereo audio is recorded with the built-in mics.

The myth of the ‘retained dust reduction system’: Using clear glass to replace the fluorine coated ultrasonic shake filter originally used is a gimmick used by another ebay seller. Clear glass adds another layer of reflectivity and distortion to your images.  And dust will electrostatically ‘stick’ to uncoated clear glass regardless of how many times you actuate the ultrasonic shake filter. The fluorine coating on the original shake filter reduces reflectivity and distortion and most importantly, reduced the static attraction between the dust and the shake filter allowing for the filter to drop the dust when activated. Unfortunately it also filters IR and reflects some UV and has to be removed.  I don’t sell gimmicks, just the finest converted cameras in the world.

The camera’s condition: This is mechanically perfect. Cosmetically it is as new but please see my pictures for the details as they are my description. The rear LCD has no dead pixels. The autofocus is perfect with all MFT lenses.
