Minton porcelain ‘Rose’ pattern 4807. Older smooth. Large 2 pint teapot.

The decoration is enamelled and hand painted floral swags over a transfer base. The pattern consists of a border of stylized flowers and geometric designs in soft pinks, greens, blues and cobalt blue accent. The border is outlined in a deep rust colour. The design also features a bouquet and swags of hand-painted multi-floral design. This pattern first appeared at the onset of the Art Nouveau movement.

MARK: The maker's mark contains a red globe & crown, the word Mintons across the globe and the word England below. The word England was added and the laurel leaves date this to between 1912-1950.

Diameter: 16cms
Length from spout to handle: 24.5cms
Height: 14.5cms
Weight: 800gms
Capacity: 2 pints. 8 teacups.

Condition: Stained inside with some internal glaze crazing. Also some staining on the rim. There is a brown glaze crack rim line on the base of the teapot which does not appear to run through the teapot. There is a fleabite chip to the rust red spout line and a small amount of glaze crazing around top of spout. Otherwise no chips, cracks or damage. See photographs. This is still a fully functioning teapot. My price reflects this condition and not bad condition for a large teapot as much as 100 years old.
