WW2 German Army DAK Tunic

Description

The Afrika Korps or Deutsches Afrika Korps was the German expeditionary force in Africa during the North African Campaign of World War II. First sent as a holding force to shore up the Italian defense of their African colonies, the formation fought on in Africa, under various appellations, from March 1941 until its surrender in May 1943. The unit's best-known commander was Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.

These M40 DAK Tunics are beautifully recreated to the correct specification of the originals. They close using 5 buttons at the front but unlike the standard army uniform, have open collars and lapels. The tunic comes with 2 pleated button-up breasts and 2 pleated button-up hip pockets. Alongside the frontal pockets, there is 1 small, internal first aid pocket lower down on the right-hand side. The tunic also comes with adjustable cuffs for a better fit and on each shoulder, there are replaceable white piped shoulder boards.

These wonderful tunics are a superb addition to any reenactors ensemble but have enough about them, with perhaps a few adjustments, that they wouldn't look out of place on the high street.
