Custom mounting bracket for mounting a 40mm cooling fan to the heatsink on Kenwood mobile radios. This one is specifically made for the TK-981, TK-780, TK-880 with the shorter heatsinks, NOT the H model variant of these.  (H model is available, check my other items!)  Please note the difference between this model and the other one i have listed for the TK-981 and its variants.  On the 981 version the tab is to the top side of the radio and the bracket sits to the right of the mounting hole, on the 862 version the tab is to the top side of the radio and to the left of the mounting hole, the tab needs to be the top of the radio with the bracket going to the side opposite of the rear label plate, this is because these radios vary as to which side of the heatsink has open slots between the fins and which side has round bossed that are partially blocking the slots between the fins.  So you need to order one with the correct orientation for your model.

Commercial use radios get HOT with long winded conversations us ham's use them for, or use as a link radio, repeater exciter, APRS, Echolink, etc etc. Keep it cool!

All you need is a 40mm fan and screws, the bracket is held to the radio using the tapped hole in the center of the heatsink, its an M4x.07 which is the same as the mounting bracket screws on the side of the radio. The fan is then screwed to the bracket using #6-32x1/2" machine screws which easily thread into the plastic bracket.  Longer screws will interfere with the heatsink fins, but these screws are a common size at most hardware stores, this screw length also varies by your fan thickness!.

This is for the bracket only, NO FAN OR SCREWS INCLUDED!

If you need one for another model be sure to check my other items for that version!  Also if you don't see something you need just ask!!

Thanks!

A Note on any buyer issues...

For all my listings of fabricated items if you have any issues with them please contact me before leaving feedback!!  Any fitment problems or suggested changes are welcome!!

A Note on Feedback...

I do my best to make my customers happy!  If you have an issue with your purchase Contact Me!  If you have questions Contact Me!  Problems with the item you bought Contact Me!  There is no point in leaving useless negative feedback that does nothing to resolve the situation.  Once you leave a negative i no longer inclined, as most sellers are, to continue trying to help.  A negative feedback is the same as breaking off any further attempt at communication!  I do my best to keep up leaving feedback for buyers, with the amount of transactions being completed i may only get around to finishing off feedback once or twice a month, sometimes sooner, but i will leave feedback!  And if you leave feedback before i do that only gets my attention to get my butt in gear and get it done on my end.  Thank You!

A Note on Shipping Costs...

Due to the increase in shipping costs with USPS, along with eBay taking 10% of the shipping with their "shipping final value fee" i have had to increase my shipping costs.  I hate doing this but its only fair, i only charge what it costs me to ship, if it costs me $2.00 to ship i only charge the buyer $2.00, thats just honest business in my opinion.  But now that eBay is taking the 10% if a buyer pays me $2.00 i only get $1.80 and those pennies add up really fast every month!  So to combat the shipping cost increase i am raising my shipping costs!  I apologize to anyone that thinks this may be unfair, but that is a fact of doing business on eBay these days!
