This listing is for a nice Chinese Shoushan stone or soapstone ink stamp or chop seal with carved foo dog/lion on top. Carving is well done and the carving is 3-dimensional with carved features on all sides. There is a seal/stamp on the bottom that has read stain from wax previously used.

The Shoushan stone is said to contain a large amount of micro-elements which are beneficial to the human body. The Shoushan village of Fuzhou in the Fujian Province is the only place that produces these stones and processes each stone according to its different materials. 

This nice seal is in excellent Estate condition reflecting only minor signs of normal wear commensurate with age.

Measures 7" high, 2 1/4" wide and 5/8" deep. Weighs 14.2 ounces.
