I have for auction a very early and much collectable edition of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.  First published in 1937, this copy is a third  impression from 1942 within ORIGINAL jacket published within Book production war economy standard.   

Book: Original boards in lovely condition. A few smaller handling marks but nothing of note. Little shelf ware, neat name to front paper, pages very clean, no tears.

Jacket: Includes original jacket which is unbelievably rare. Most were lost /became detached during the wartime period and few survived making this a rare find indeed. Some loss to spine and edges and wear as shown. This said mainly intact and so the winner may choose to leave in current state or have restored?

So overall a fantastic copy of  an early copy and the jacket making it super special to Tolkien /Hobbit fan.
