Welcome to  Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a gorgeous gold-tone wide bangle or cuff bracelet with the front half decorated with a diagonal design of black enamel alternating with bands of colorless rhinestones. Bracelet is marked "S.A.L." which was originally the trademark name used by Swarovski for their early jewelry creations from 1977-1988. This trademark stamp was later changed to the swan hallmark which we today associate with Swarovski jewelry and crystals.  Bracelet is hinged and has security closure to facilitate getting it on and off.

Bracelet has inside measurement of 6 1/2" and is 5/8" wide. Weighs 2.5 ounces.

This glamorous bracelet is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws reflecting only minimal signs of ever being worn. All stones are intact and enamel is clean and smooth. Hinge is tight and clasp opens and closed correctly.

History:
In the late 19th Century, Austrian jeweler Daniel Swarovski devised a method of attaching a foil back on his high quality faceted crystals that made them almost indistinguishable from diamonds. Demand was so great for his "stones" that in 1892 he patented a mechanical cutter so he could mass produce his creations. His faux gems became popularly known as rhinestones and although most rhinestones are associated with clear glass, they can impersonate almost any natural stone a jeweler wishes to imitate.
