Distinguished MVD Employee Badge, circa 1970's.

Silver gilt, enamels. Three-piece construction . 

This type features large letters "MVD" in the red plaque compared to the earlier, brass version of the Distinguished MVD badge. Unlike on the earlier badge, the reverse is not flat: it has raised oval platform in the center with mint mark "MMD" (Moscow Mint). 

The badge exhibits beautiful enamel quality and outstanding workmanship throughout.

In excellent condition. The enamel is essentially flawless . 

The gilt finish on the hammer & sickle and especially on the hilt of the sword is extremely well preserved and bright. Very attractive even patina to the reverse. 

Original mint marked screw plate is included.
