I would describe the lens as correctly working but the focus is definitely on the firm side, usable but noticeably stiff. It works smoothly but feels firm throughout the movement range. Diaphragm action is nice and smooth this is a preset lens in a Exakta mount. As you see there are some cosmetic flaws of the chrome. The metal silver areas. So cosmetically it's maybe 7+. I guess on the upside there are no dents or anything that effect the function of this lens. Lens mount has only light paint wear. Optics I would are clean there's minimal internal dust, no haze, no fungi. Looking very carefully at the surface there are a few hints of coating marks, almost impossible to see. So I'm going to call the glass surfaces 99+% or something like that. Looking through the lens I see some yellow, you can just see this in first photo. My best guess from research is this this is about 1957 vintage lens. The front cap Carl Zeiss Jena and the rear one looks like it's vintage but it doesn't have any markings as to the brand, this cap is a user cosmetic. Fits correctly. What you see is what I send. No smoke or mold smells. If reserve is not met will likely do second chance offer to high bidder.
Above description 8th sentence, more or less in the middle should read: ...Optics I would say are clean there's minimal internal dust, no haze, no fungi...
