This box is based on the popular and proven Kent bat box design with an added weatherproof, protective outer shell made from 100% recycled plastic.  This shell slots together with a tab system, avoiding the need to use fixings which may corrode and adds to its durability.  It also shields the wooden roosting crevices, making the box more secure, draft proof and longer lasting. 

The wooden interior is made from locally sourced FSC certified spruce, rough sawn to provide a good grip for bats whilst inside the box.  Divided into two crevices approximately 18mm wide, this bat box is ideal for common and soprano pipistrelle bats.

Bat droppings simply fall out of the crevices, meaning this is a self-cleaning box and will not require any maintenance.  This box is suitable for mounting on both buildings and trees.

Please note: Bats are protected by law. You should therefore only open a bat box to check it if you hold an appropriate licence.
