Richard Avedon 5 x Signed Prints - Psychedelic Beatles
This is truly a Beatles collectors dream come true!
These hugely famous Psychedelic Images of the Beatles are all signed by the Photographer, Richard Avedon and comes with a signed, typed letter from Mr. Avedon bearing his letterhead in 1981 to a close friend for a special gift and also included is an original copy of Look Magazine, Jan 1968 in which they were first published. Letter has been scanned and the black lines are the folds in the paper.
The Prints are all 8" x 10" with border and include one of each of the Beatles - John, Paul, George and Ringo and a fifth comprising all four of the images together. These are signed on the reverse and dated '81.
These prints are not limited editions, but one off photo prints on what appears to be fine art, satin finish, fiber paper. The low sheen on the paper allows the observer to pick up the detail in the Images much better than on gloss finish.
ABOUT MR RICHARD AVEDON
Richard Avedon (May 15, 1923 – October 1, 2004) was an American fashion and portrait photographer. An obituary published in The New York Times said that "his fashion and portrait photographs helped define America's image of style, beauty and culture for the last half-century". Avedon is also renowned for his defining portraits of many early rock 'n' roll greats.
The American photographer took a number of shots of the Beatles in the August 1967 session, four of which were later adorned with psychedelic effects. They were first published in the 9 January 1968 edition of the US magazine Look, and were subsequently sold as posters. The letter accompanying the prints mentions "a funny thing that happened at the shoot", but does not elaborate further.
It is quite rare to find these four images together in such condition and age alone, but having all portraits signed and accompanied by a signed letter from the photographer himself is an extreme rarity!
Four signed prints like these, although larger, sold at Christies for EUR 445,000 and were limited editions sets printed in 1990 with no letter of provenance.

We are a non profit registered charity in NJ, we are auctioning off items that have been donated to help our programs in India, Africa and the Philippines. The needs are so urgent that we are now organizing a fund rasier and have many rare and wonderful items to sell.
Our Charity helps around 500 orphans, widows and families in Africa, India and the Philippines. The unique aspect of our Charity is that we not only help provide basics, but we also strive to help provide our orphans, widows and families with the means for becoming more self-sufficient.
Since 2010 we have been feeding the very poor in India, Africa and the Philippines. We as volunteers feel it is important to help those who cannot help themselves and our volunteers work long hours to meet the needs in these countries. We help around 500 orphans and widows with food, water, clothing and basic needs. We also work with groups to breed animals for food and reselling to help and supplement their needs thus providing self-sufficiency and also provide seeds for growing and chickens for eggs and breeding as well as goats and cows for milk and breeding.
