To the best of my knowledge this has no functional problems. I don't have a camera to fully test.  I put in batteries and charged it up and the ready light came on as expected and test firing worked repeatedly. The LCD looks great there's no missing lettering or cracks or bleeds.  Body in general has minor surface marks, not mint but nice, no cracks or damage except the one door contact. This has a lot of sophisticated functions such as slave, I really don't have equipment to fully test. Bounce and swivel work smoothly.   Power zoom works, flash must be set to 0 angle to go through zoom sequence.  At bounce angle it automatically goes to 50mm (narrowest angle setting).  In close up photos one can see a door contact that has some corrosion from a battery leakage.  I put in some batteries which are 3 V lithium DL123's and they worked right away. I inserted and reinserted several times and the flash correctly charged up every time. So I don't think you need to clean up the contact any further in fact I would leave it alone. But that's just me.   By Googling ...Nikon SB 50 DX compatibility.... you can find a chart with lots of info about this flash.  Chart shows it being compatible with many later autofocus film Nikons and some of the early D series digital, many Coolpix but the more recent cameras apparently are not compatible... they're not on the chart.  I am not an Nikon user.  What you see is what I send. No smoke or mold smells.  No batteries will be included.
