New York Lady 40 are stylish but sturdy,hard-wearing but comfortable and have a very pleasant feel to them and loads of elasticity due to the 25% elastin  - that's the reason they're quite expensive, with less elastin in the make-up the garments are less expensive to manufacture. However, with less elastin you get less stretchability and with less 'give' you get a less accommodating pair of tights with less capacity to withstand the rigours of an average day's wear and tear.  Basically, 'you get what you pay for' and when you buy a pair of New York 40 tights, you're buying a good quality item.
