Vintage 1950s Authentic SAWYERS, INC. VIEW-MASTER Stereoscope Viewer made in Portland, Oregon, USA. This is a very "retro" entertainment item that was popular during the 1950s and early 1960s. It was intended for children then. However adults keen to "relive" childhood memories can evoke early childhood, otherwise forgotten, experiences through the visual connection of viewing the slides.

Package includes 11 slide reels, story phamplets; reel sleeves, original box that came as Gift-Pack. Brown viewer is strong, durable bakelight plastic material; slide spring lever is firmly intact and fully functional; lenses are clear.
There is a horizontal crack across the right (facing front) plastic lens cover of the viewer (please refer to close-up photos), however this does not interfere, distract, or negatively affect the viewing experience. If desired, it could be repaired or replaced by professional photo shop; green sticker of local photo supplier (HURJAX) glued on front of viewer. Reels' images are clear and bright; captions on reels are clear, legible. Most reels are in very good shape except for two - one reel has one slide missing, and one reel has been torn with six slides missing. Themes are fairy tales; two reels feature female Western movie character Dale Evans. Story pamphlets are clearly readable; most reel protective sleeves in good shape -few have edges torn or seams split; original box still strong enough to carry, protect viewer, reels and story pamphlets. Edges and corners of box show wear from normal handling since the 1950s; non smoking environment.

Little Red Riding Hood
Goldilocks and the 3 Bears
Rumplestiltskin
