This listing is for a 19th Century framed miniature portrait painting of young woman with her hair in ringlets wearing a necklace and a low neck gown. The painting is unsigned, however, the quality and details are outstanding. The portrait is framed in a hand made piano key frame of the period with engraved bronze bezel that has been painted. Has small brass ring at top for hanging.
The frame measures 5" high, 4 1/4" wide and approximately 3/8" deep. Site measures 2 3/4" high and 2" wide (oval). Weighs 2.9 ounces.
The painting and frame are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. I believe the painting may be a watercolor as some of the colors are faint and there is minor discoloration around the lower edge. Some edges of the panels in the frame are slightly raised from normal aging.
